I am going to buy one of your single thermocouple interfaces for sure. It is a great timesaver for me. I have a question. I will use it for regulating the temperature of molten lead in a melting pot. Do you have any suggestions as to a specific K type thermocouple that would do the job? I am concerned about mounting the hot junction inside the pot.

  3. Hey Scott,

Glad your interested. The hot temperature is not a problem, I use K-type probes at work in 1500˚F furnaces!

Like you said it is the type that matters. It also depends on how much you want to spend… probes can be anywhere in the $20-100 range for a decent probe. I usually work with Omega (omega.com) for probes. I like their HTTC series (just search for it) they are low cost, but still great performance for general use. The nice thing about omega is you can custom order alot of their products. THe last probes I ordered were HTTC36-K-18G-6-GG-SMPW-M which is a probe with Fiberglass braid wire, a 6″ probe, 36″ wire, and the Mini TC connector already attached for $24.

Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be sure to try and help you out.
